Tetsuo
Imai graduated from Tokyo University in 1964, the year Japan welcomed the
world to the Tokyo Olympics. gIt was a great feeling to welcome the
world to our city,h Imai says. gI never forgot that feeling, so I knew I wanted to keep on welcoming the
world to Japan.h
After
20 years as a gsalarymanh Imai became an entrepreneur in 1985,
founding the company now known as Prime Intelligence. His mission from the
outset was to bridge the gap between Japan and global business.

Since
then, Imai has helped a variety of foreign players to successfully enter
the Japanese market – including Business
International, Input, Individual and NewsEdge.

Much of this work has involved market
research and strategic planning, but Imai has always faced outward.

gI
know that even the best idea in the world isnft worth the price of a cup
of coffee if you canft sell it,h says Imai. gAnd I enjoy the
personal contact that comes with the sales process. So I still like to get
out there myself and sell.h

Beyond
its global outlook, that sales focus has given Prime Intelligence a
network of 500+ high-level industry and government contacts – and a
practical, streetwise sensibility.

gWefre
not just about ideas and information, wefre about results,h says Imai.
